AI Art

AI Art

Customers type what they want; the designer generates art they can place, scale, and print.

This is the feature that turns “I don’t have a design” from a lost sale into an order.

How it’s wired (important)

AI Art runs on your own API key, you connect it in Settings, you control the spend, and image generation bills to your account at your provider’s rates, not through me. No key connected = the button simply doesn’t appear.

Three providers are supported, pick one in My T Maker ▸ Settings ▸ AI Art:

  • Google Gemini (the default), key from Google AI Studio
  • OpenAI (ChatGPT), key from platform.openai.com
  • xAI (Grok), key from console.x.ai

Each provider gets its own API key field and a model field (sensible defaults are pre-filled; you only change the model if your provider retires one). Only the selected provider is ever used.

Setup

  1. Get an API key from your provider (links above).
  2. Choose the provider and paste the key in My T Maker ▸ Settings ▸ AI Art, then tick “Show the AI Art button in the designer.”
  3. Set “Free AI generations per customer (by email)”, customers enter their email before generating (which also builds your Leads list on the Dashboard). Default is 1: each email gets one free image, then the AI Art button locks and politely tells them to contact you for more. Set 0 for unlimited. There’s also a per-visitor hourly rate limit under the hood, so a bot can’t hammer your bill.

Cost control, honestly

  • Image generation costs pennies per image, but pennies add up on a busy page. Start with the default allowance of 1 and raise it when you see the order data.
  • The Dashboard counts AI generations, so you can compare generations to orders and set the allowance with numbers instead of guesses.
  • Every AI user’s email lands in your Leads list, even the ones who don’t order are marketing contacts you didn’t have yesterday.
  • The background remover isn’t AI‑billed. It runs entirely in the customer’s browser and is free on every plan.

Print quality notes

  • The “✨ Magic My T Maker style” toggle steers generations toward flat, clean, solid-color art, the kind that actually prints well, instead of muddy photorealism.
  • Generated art comes in at a fixed resolution, the 📏 print-size readout with its low-DPI warning applies to AI art like any upload. If a customer scales a generation to full-back size and it drops below print resolution, they see the warning before you get the file.
  • AI art is raster (PNG). Designs containing it export mockups + print PNGs; the vector SVG/PDF export covers the library-art/text sides of a design, see Print files.
